1. Back to Black – 9.5% – Rating: 4.5/5
Back to Black is a Belgian stout brewed by Brewery De Ranke. It’s a complex blend—primarily a strong porter-style ale that’s aged in oak barrels for several months. The sourness comes from a blend with a lambic, specifically from Brouwerij Girardin, which De Ranke uses in other blends like their Cuvée De Ranke. This combination gives Back to Black its distinctive character: rich roasted malts, light acidity, and subtle dark fruit notes.

2. Python IPA – 6% – Rating: 5/5
This light brown hazy IPA from the Brussels brewery La Source presents dominant floral and grassy aromas. It has a delicious ending of bitterness to tie in all the flavors!
A bottle-conditioned, light brown hazy IPA with a soft, natural carbonation. Expect floral and grassy hop aromas up front, followed by a layered malt body and a crisp, bitter finish that lingers just enough. Python IPA delivers balance and character in every sip—refreshing yet bold, earthy yet bright.

3. Westvleteren Blond – 5.8% – Rating: 5/5
This blond ale is the smaller sister of the world’s best-rated beer, Westvleteren 12, brewed with equal devotion behind the walls of the abbey, known as a Trappist beer. It also happens to be Liselot, founder of BeerSecret’s, absolute topper Belgian blond. With its heavenly softness and delicate touch of bitterness, this beer is pure bliss in a glass.

4. Space Cadet – 5% – Rating 4.5/5
This Wheat beer from Brouwerij’t Verzet has a perfect balance of soft and creamy. Its flavor of wheat, mandarin, and apricot partnered with a nice aroma of smoky cloves make for a super fresh beer!

5. Vleteren 12 Port Barrel Aged – 12% – Rating: 4/5
This dark beer by Deca Brewery steals the show with aromas of ripe prunes, honey, and burned sugar. During Covid times, this beer was part of our Taste Adventure Box as we believe this small, unknown brewery needs extra attention. Beside tasting the beers, we love to share with you some food pairing suggestions: dates topped with bacon, Rabbit in plum sauce, and goat cheese with raisins! Mmmm, believe us, try it at home! (it’s not dangerous!;))
PS: We even made a Youtube video of our Tasting Experience.

6. Holy Fruit (Yellow) – 0.3% – Rating: 4/5
Bring in the holidays with this soft and creamy holiday beer by Browerij Alvinne. It has a strong alcoholic flavor full of raisins, herbs, caramel, and subtle notes of chocolate.

7. Peace & Joy 2022 – 10% – Rating: 4/5
This non-alcoholic beer by Galea Craft Beers immediately caught my attention with its vibrant pineapple-forward flavor. The aroma combines refreshing notes of ginger and juicy pineapple, creating a deliciously fruity and well-balanced brew. Perfect for those looking to enjoy the taste of craft beer without the alcohol, this beer offers a bright, tropical experience that’s both satisfying and refreshing.

8. La Marlouf – 8% – Rating: 4/5
The La Marlouf beer by Yassine Kouysse stands out with its perfect creaminess that glides smoothly across the palate. It strikes an excellent balance between salty and sweet flavors, creating a harmonious and satisfying drinking experience.

9. Moose Milk Stout – 6.5% – Rating: 4/5
This Belgian stout beer by L’Annexe Brewery has Canadian inspired flavors combining vanilla, whiskey, rum, and coffee! It is an incredibly soft beer bringing creamy and soft bitter coffee notes with a nice finish of vanilla.

10. De Poes Blond – 8% – Rating: 3.75/5
De Poes Blond by Brouwerij De Poes brings delicious and balanced bitterness paired with a fresh taste of flowers and citrus from the herbs. This blond beer is fermented twice, and reminds me of Guldenberg and Jambe de bois. Try it out with complementary foods such as trout with onion, chicken with pineapple, and Orangette milk chocolate!

These are a few of BeerSecret’s favorite beers and there are so many more to come! Also, The lower rated beers on Untappd will be replaced with the best beers as we are keen on not exceeding our 100 check-ins.
