Beer lover? Get yourself ready for a non-traditional beer experience. In this tour, you’ll explore several local & unusual Belgian flavors!
Just beer? No, we’ll do some local food pairing too. Your host will feed each tasting with some historical storytelling or local novelties.
On your first promenade, you’ll be introduced to stories about the covered river and their referred dog statue; It’s no reference to the Brussels Manneke Pis, neither the Jeanneke Pis but the unknown Zinneke Pis;
And wait, before we move on, get to know Brussels’ new, huge beer experience house called Belgian Beer World. A former stock exchange building that has been converted into a beer museum.
1. The oldest beer style in Brussels:
We arrive in a hidden gem with roots from the 18th century, which is even unknown to most locals. Here, we drink pure Brussels’ oldest beer style, served straight from the source! Your guide will explain their special brewing process like finding out how their yeast changes the taste of each batch!. Believe us: this is an ultimate “AHA-experience”. Taste the difference between a medieval recipe and a new modern beer style, created by the first brewery of the new generation. This place is also unique because of its huge amount of different kinds of Lambic and Gueuze beer, varying from fixed brews to popup brews. 🍺
2. Beer quiz:
Off to the brewery by metro: on your way, you’ll take a short beer quiz to test your beer knowledge, as your guide is curious to know how much you already learned about Belgian beers. The results will be announced at the end of the tour to keep the tension alive. 🤭
A guaranteed entertaining trip to the brewery where a small team is waiting for you to tell dozens of brewing stories.
3. Meet the brewers:
Upon your arrival, meet the founder, grab one of Brussels’ most exclusive beers which is even unknown for some locals. Trying a wide range of Belgian styles is obviously part of this tasting session as you’ll be served with flavours going from saison to stout.
Brewer Maxim will guide us around his 150m2 brewery and show you where the magic happens. A brewing process may be quite similar in between different breweries but let Maxim uncover you what makes their brewery so unique! He will definitely talk about their special recipes and their interesting ‘one-off brews’ Don’t be shy and complete their stories with your long-lasting beer questions! 🤔
4. Traditional brew:
Let’s make sure we end this tour in style, so no better place for the last tasting than the coolest bar in Brussels’ hip district. It’s the time to satisfy you with a traditional Trappist beer. And choose your last beer that matches the group! While sipping your beer, you’ll get a delicious food pairing served, a perfect way to enjoy the Brussels cuisine!🍴
Oh, and by the way, let’s find out who scored the highest during our quiz. Psst, the lucky winner gets an extra tasting!
