You will be welcomed in the family brewery where Lambic, Gueuze, Faro and Kriek are created and where nothing has changed since 1900. Red copper containers, barrels (some of them more than 100 years old!), and walls full of bottles will constitute the scenery of your visit. Let’s follow the malt in its journey and explore the places and machinery where the magic of brewing happens. There is nothing more fascinating to see than the fermentation room where you’ll understand why Cantillon beers can taste different every year. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see the moment of the brewing or bottling (fun fact: some of our clients got to bottle their own beer!) , maybe you ’ll see how barrels are cleaned or how fruity beers are made in summer. Last but not least: maybe you ‘ll have the chance to talk with the brewer!
(Please note that this brewery visit is not available during Wednesday-, Sunday- and evening tours. Instead, you’ll visit a young craft brewery.)
We are now ready to move to the next brewery while enjoying a 15-mins-long beer quiz about IPAs and IBUs. Whether you are a Dutch or an English speaker, try to find the right terminology to answer correctly. The winner gets a reward at the end of the tour!
Explore the youngest brewery in town where young entrepreneurs will receive you with lots of love and give you an encredible brewery presentation with passion and the right dose of humor. Don’t be shy and ask them your questions! Depending on the availability of the brewers: visit a brewery without public access.
Who knows, you may even get a chance to be a pioneer and savour their new monthly creation or to sip the unfinished beer from the brew kettles. Any idea how that tastes? And last but not least: bottle one of their beers and take this personalised creation home!
Let’s make sure we end this tour with style, so no better place for a last tasting at the coolest bar in Brussels’ young district. Time now to satisfy you with two more beer styles depending on your own beer tasting experience. While sipping your beer, don’t forget to enjoy some local delicacies.
Oh and by the way, let’s determine who scored the highest during our quiz so that the lucky one can be spoiled with an extra tasting! Before we say goodbye, your host will be honoured to share with you more delicious Belgian beers as a variant of your favourite beer of the tour! Have you discovered your new favourite taste?
